Giving it a try

Well, here we are... as it seems we are one of the few who do not have a blog. We will give it a try. Hopefully we can get an entry up every so often. We are still alive and breathing!

Bobby is finishing up his BA work this June! We are so excited about that. He is currently at Chapman and is loving the small nine week classes. He will enter the credentialing program in the fall. His heart has been turned to teaching kindergarten. Currently he is an aide in Keira's classroom, teaches PE, and does yard duty at her school.

Keira is currently teaching Transitional Kindergarten at a wonderful school with 8 kindergarten classes! It is definitely crazy with 160 5 year olds, but we are able to share lots of great ideas. Her classroom is the Frogs. She absolutely LOVES her job. Not many people go to work to laugh! The kids are amazing at this age. They just learn so much and have such a strong desire to learn and grow! Hopefully she can go back to school soon and get her masters. We will see about that.

We love animals.
Koda: 5 year old White and fluffy American Eskimo who enjoys cuddling, walking, talking, and puking on the floor.
Cooper: 2 year old Orange/White Brittany enjoys cuddling, running, playing, burying, chewing, and nosing everything. He was adopted from the Brittany Rescue at the beginning of September. He is doing MUCH better now that he has some training from us!
Jamba: 2 year old blue parrotlet who enjoys chirping, squaking, screeching, and neck scratches. I admit he has been a little neglected with the scratches since Cooper has come around. Hopefully Cooper will get better around him.
Various Fish: We recently moved our fish tank into the classroom and filled it with bright colorful fish. The students absolutely love it. I am constantly asking the students to return to their seats. Although, two days ago our frog died and I had to explain to the children that he was sick. His name was Luigi. Poor froggy got the flush.

We live near the beach and love being able to see the ocean on the drive to work everyday. Not to mention the minutes drive on those warm days after work to walk on the sand! Last Saturday we got to go hiking in Carmel Valley. It is absolutely gorgeous and green there! We get all of our outdoor enjoyment here, except for snowboarding. I guess you can't have it all!

Our little home is not one to envy. We are living in teacher housing. Which is old military housing converted over. Our apartment is wall to wall tile (like classroom tile, blah) and tends to be cold. But, we do have a lot of room (for an apartment) with a garage, tiny backyard, and washer/dryer. So we can't complain too much. We desperately want to be in our own home so we can decorate as we please, but in all due time!

It is true. We got married in 2006 and don't have a baby...crazy huh! I realized that almost all of our old friends our age has at least one kid, if not more...

Well, I don't know how often these things will appear. Hopefully at least monthly. That shouldn't be asking too much. I'll get pictures up soon!
